As a special education teacher, it can be tricky to accommodate everyone's unique sensory and learning needs in a shared space. Since the students also have diverse disabilities and tolerance levels, it is often necessary for some of them to use noice-blocking devices to avoid overstimulation or frustration. We also have students that have severe reading disabilities that require text to be read to them. The headphones and earbuds have been wonderful tools to help the students use assistive technology— such as speech-to-text and screen reading programs— to work and practice skills independently. \r\nTHANK YOU for helping provide our students learn and thrive!","fullyFundedDate":1735407314480,"projectUrl":"project/can-you-hear-me-now/8860276/","projectTitle":"Can You Hear Me Now?","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Charity","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9684710_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723904179223","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9684710"},{"teacherId":9684710,"projectId":8670211,"letterContent":"Thank you SO MUCH for donating to my classroom!! My students are loving the alternate seating options— the Cross Legged Armless Wide Adjustable Swivel Padded Home Office Desk Chair is EVERYONE'S favorite— and appreciate the flexibility they afford in choosing the work space that suits their needs best at every moment. The floor cushions and laptop stand have made small group and 1:1 time more enjoyable by allowing students to leave the usual desk and chair setup to work literally anywhere there is floor space. \r\nThe games make learning and practicing reading comprehension skills more enjoyable, and the phonics tools have been a tremendous help for my reading intervention class. A few items were not available at fulfillment time, but I was able to find other useful tools that keep students engaged in learning. \r\nThis school year has been full of unforeseen changes that have kept us on our toes, constantly adjusting our plans and expectations. Because of generous donations like yours, our students have been able to more easily adjust and adapt to every situation.
