My Students

My music students are awesome! Teaching all elective classes allows me to see many students that have a strong desire to be in my class.

Throughout all of my classes and activities, my students show a desire to learn about music and the enjoyment it can create in their lives as well as the lives of those around them.

The connections that music can make between students, their families, and members of the community are hard to quantify. They are, however, long-lasting and impact my students for many years to come.

Marching band is especially powerful at making this connection with our many performances in the community for parades, football games, ceremonies, services, etc.

My Project

One of the biggest challenges rehearsing outdoors is communicating effectively. This distance from students to the marching band staff and each other makes for issues unique to practicing and performing on a football field.

Obtaining this PA Bluetooth speaker will help solve many of these issues, by allowing the staff to communicate directions/information and a metronome click across a long distance.

This is greatly needed this year, as we do not have a student conductor on the field. As a result, the band is learning to listen to the drumline and follow their tempo. A metronome click is needed to make this work most effectively and this PA system will be able to project so students can hear it while rehearsing.
