This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My kindergarten students come to school every day excited to be a part of our classroom family, where they are challenged, nurtured, and loved. Our Title I school has about 400 Kindergarten through 3rd Grade students. All students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Because my students come from high poverty, they do not have adequate school supplies, learning resources or books to enjoy at home.

Despite these hardships, my students are eager to learn and excited about school. They work hard and try to do their best!

My Project

Our kindergarteners use educational programs on their laptops each day to strengthen their reading and mathematics skills. Can you imagine being in a classroom of 25 to 30 students all working on a laptop at the same time without headphones? Even with the volume levels on low, it can be quite distracting. What a difference headphones would make for our kindergarten students! The headphones would allow the students to work independently without disturbing their classmates and focus better on their own work.

Your generous donation to our project will ensure that each of our kindergarten students has a positive classroom learning environment and can use technology to strengthen their reading and mathematics skills.

Because many of our kindergarten students do not have access to technology in their homes, they need positive experiences using technology at school. Providing these students with earphones for their laptops will enhance their classroom learning environment, use of technology, and strengthen their reading and mathematics knowledge.
