My students thirst for knowledge and wisdom but often lack the resources to quench their thirst.
We are a business-themed public high school located in the heart of Queens, NY, the most culturally and ethnically diverse neighborhood in the world.
The children who enter my classroom come from all over NYC. As such, they carry with them a wealth of knowledge that contributes to a dynamic classroom. However, many of my students also come from economically disadvantaged homes. Therefore, many times, resources, basic supplies, and equipment are scarce.
My Project
Social interaction is necessary for emotional growth and academic success, however many of my students have lost that, as a result of the Coronavirus. To further compound the matter, many students also lack the resources that would enable them to have meaningful interactions and engagement with their teachers and peers.
Please help me provide my students with headphones and mics, so they could engage with their peers, take part in clubs, and interact in class, and to foster their social emotional learning.
It will make a massive difference, for students who lack such resources. It will improve their school life, by positively impacting their social and emotional learning. I plan on distributing a set of headphones to students who need them. Thank you for your support.
