Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am fortunate enough to work with students across all grade levels. I work with struggling readers and others that need a little more individualized attention. My students come from low-income families and don't always have the resources that they need. This pandemic has been hard on many of my students and their lives have been effected by COVID. Many of my students have experienced some form of trauma in their lives especially during the past few months. Despite all of this, they are great kids!
Working remotely has not been easy for some of my kiddos, but they remain positive and upbeat.
My Project
Our school district has decided to open on January 4, 2021. We are adopting a hybrid model. Students have the choice of learning in person or remaining at home. Those that have decided to learn in the school building will be expected to follow all COVID related safety protocols. Students will be seated 6 feet away from one another and will be required to remain at their seats for most of the day. Students will also be required to wear masks. We will also have an air purifier running in the classroom. With all that being said, I imagine that it will be very hard to hear both teachers and our instruction.
Having personal earbuds will allow my students to hear and communicate clearly with all teachers during hybrid learning.
Having earphones with a microphone will allow both teachers to clearly hear and clearly communicate with students in our classroom as well as students that are learning at home.
