My Students
My students are amazing. I teach in a low socio-economic area with a high percentage of single-parent households. A majority of my students are working at below grade level, yet expected to perform on grade level during state-wide standardized testing.
Having an engaged classroom makes learning more fun for my students.
Many of my students have learning disabilities or ADHD. I try to keep the classroom environment learner-friendly, which is difficult when most students claim that they "don't get" math.
My Project
It is difficult to teach and learn while at home. There are many distractions. Headphones will allow my students to hear me and not as much of the background noise.
Having headphones with a built in mic will help my students to stay on task.
As an adult, it is hard for me to stay on task teaching when there is noise around me, or in the street. It is more difficult for a student who may have siblings in the same room, also trying to learn. Headphones will enable my students to block out some of the noise yet still be able to participate in class.
