My Students

I teach at an amazing school full of diversity. We have over 700 students, over 100 are English as a Second Language students, over 100 are Advance Program students, along with a robust regular education program and special needs program. We call ourselves "The Greatest School on Earth," and we truly are! This school year, I will be teaching a brand-new class for our school. It will be a Digital Literacy Lab which will be strictly project-based learning. I am so excited about this new opportunity! I will get to teach all of our amazing students, either in a group setting, small groups or individually. I am blessed to teach all of our students!

I want all of the students that enter my room to have amazing experiences because they are amazing and exceptional students!

My Project

I am thinking in the future when we return to school. Will the students be wearing masks? Will I? If I am, will my students be able to hear me? Would my voice be muffled and hard to understand? All these questions run through my mind when the future is so uncertain.

That's when I thought that a voice amplifier speaker sound system would be perfect.

Not only if I am wearing a mask, but for every day use. Sometimes, students in the back of the room don't hear me as well, and this would help solve an every day problem.

As the Digital Literacy Lab teacher, I am often doing whole group, as well as small group, instruction. If I am teaching a whole group lesson on Google Sites, I need to have the attention of everyone in the class. If my voice is muffled by a mask, I am going to lose most of my students. With the voice amplifier, students will hear all of my directions and will be able to start creating their Sites quickly.

I can also see my students using this voice amplifier to present their own work to the class, especially those that are soft spoken and don't like to speak up. This will give them confidence that their classmates will listen to them and they will have their attention.

I am excited about the possibility of using this when we return to school in the fall. This will benefit all of my students!
