My Students

Sturgis, SD is my hometown where I attended school, my children attend, and I currently teach 5th grade. I love that I get to teach and live where I was taught and raised.

Every day, I strive to meet the vast and unique learning and emotional needs of each of my students.

I teach 120 fifth grade students who are fun-loving and hard-working. Fifth graders are at an age where they have a knowledge of many things, but are curious of much, much more. Learning with my fifth graders each day is truly a blessing.

My Project

Listening is the primary channel for learning, but physical factors such as distance and noise prevent students from hearing the full message, often resulting in students missing critical components required for learning and understanding.

Research shows classrooms using a Redcat amplifier have a 43% reduction in off-task behavior and a 72% reduction in teacher redirections.

The Redcat amplifier delivers audio clarity that fills the room with the teacher’s natural voice through the use of a teacher mic. This enables students to hear every word no matter where they sit in the classroom.

Shy, quiet students often struggle to have their voices heard among their more outgoing classmates. The student mic gives these students a voice, enhances student and group presentations, and ensures everyone's voice is equally heard.

In addition, the Redcat provides support for students with hearing needs by delivering clear audio across the whole room, providing them with equal access to instruction and classroom participation.
