This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students from my school don’t come from much, and their families struggle financially every single day. My students walk in the classroom door every single day with a positivity and hope that is inspiring! They don’t ask for much... just love, care and a safe place to learn and grow without judgment or worry. These kids are amazing and have so many dreams that I want them to fulfill. They can be anything, and I want to help them realize their dreams!
My Project
Currently my third grade students are having to share headphones with each other. I have purchased many pairs over the past few years with my own money, but over time the headphones I purchased have begun to not work. Most of my class has to listen to remediation and skill building lessons out loud. It is so hard for the students to concentrate with 20 computers making noise at once. My students depend on these remediation and skill building lessons to fill in missing concepts and aid them in academic success. Quality headphones would make their job as students so much easier.
