This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a Title I school with many economically disadvantaged students. I start the school year every year with the hopes to open my student’s minds up, and ensure that they experience as much as they can. One of the most exciting ways we have found to do this is through educational websites, but unfortunately sometimes this is hindered by our headphones.

My students thrive on being independent, and finding new information on their own so having headphones available will be so beneficial for them.

My Project

Learning to use technology is so integral to our students. Teaching in an economically disadvantaged school puts me at a great advantage to teach my students how to use technology to learn.

Allowing my students to use computers and iPads to support their reading and phonemic skills at their own level requires headphones to limit distractions.

I am asking for sixteen headphones so they will be able to put their full concentration into what they’re working on and learning with headphones. We will be able to use these headphones at our class computers, IPads, and listening center. This will help the students meet their goals, and become lifelong learners.!
