Can You Hear Me Now? Handsets for Firsties

My students need retro mobile phone handsets to help record their voices, charging and cleaning supplies for our class iPads, and an ink and paper set to print out our projects.

My Students

My students are 21st-century learners. They love using technology in our classroom and I integrate it as much as possible into all of the subject areas. My students are a bunch of inquisitive learners.

I teach at a small neighborhood school with approximately 560 students.

We first opened our doors in 1950. Arts in education is a major emphasis on our campus. Our school's mission is to develop children into life-long learners as a result of a challenging curriculum, individualized instruction, high expectations, and a nurturing environment with parental and community involvement. My class is made up of 20 diverse students, from students with special needs to those who are identified as gifted and talented. I encourage my students to appreciate each other's differences as well as find similarities among each other. They are very active, creative, and enjoy learning.

My Project

My students have taken off this year using Seesaw, a student-driven digital portfolio that empowers students to independently document what they are learning at school. At least once a week, students choose what items to add to their portfolio and have the opportunity to use the microphone feature to record their thinking.

This project will enable our class to purchase handsets so that they will be able to record their voices more clearly.

They will also be able to use supplies to help clean the devices, charge them when needed, and store them when not using them.

I am also requesting to purchase an ink refill cartridge and paper for our mini photo printer so we are able to print out our projects.
