Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is a multicultural inner city school full of 750+ ambitious students. Most of my students love to watch and/or participate in our school performing arts. But as the school was being remodeled, the stage was completely eliminated and our performing arts program suffered.
Given the socioeconomic status of the area, most of my students haven't had the opportunity to participate in performing arts programs outside of school.
And given the cultural diversity in my school's area, most of my students aren't even aware of the performing arts programs that are offered.
This is my third year at my current school so I'm just getting started. I have created an honor choir, and I'm currently working on building a music/dance/drama program school wide. Hopefully by creating a network of support, it will enable my performing arts program to grow.
My Project
My school is slowly growing within its performing arts needs. So this wireless microphone earpiece will be a part of that.
We have 2-4 large productions each year within our performing arts department.
We have an honor choir that performs songs, dances, and skits. We also have an annual talent show that consists of various styles of acts like karate demonstrations, dances, magic acts, and songs.
But not only are we in need of this earpiece for hands-free entertainment. We are in need of this earpiece for the classroom and school presentations as well. I (the teacher) use the earpiece for regular classroom instruction. And the students will be using the earpiece for classroom/school presentations.
