This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Distance learning has been a challenge not only for our students and parents, but for teachers as well. Our school is a Title I school, where 100% of our students receive free breakfast, lunch and supper. Despite all financial odds, we were able to provide a device and a hotspot for all of our students with help from our District. These are unprecedented times demanding more, economically, from educators.

Our students are young scholars ready to tackle the 2020-2021 school year with excitement and perseverance.

Students log on every day with the enthusiasm to start learning new things. We are having to teach and keep our students engaged and focused while they sit behind a computer screen. I want my students to be able to hear me and see the lessons with examples. I need a document camera and noise-reduction earphones for my students to get the job done well.

My Project

This school year is starting off like no other. In order to make distance learning a success, I am asking for a pair of noiseless headphones to mute out any background noise when I am teaching my lessons. Students will be able to pay attention and interact with me because they will hear every single word. I want to keep the noise level at a minimum wile keeping the learning level at a maximum. I am also asking for a document camera/scanner so my students can see documents/handouts, book pages and see actual examples I provide them with during synchronous lessons. I want to ensure that my students having some "normal" learning consistency during distance learning.

Having the noiseless headphones and the document camera during distance learning will help my students stay engaged and focused on the lessons I am providing.

The noiseless headphones will keep background noises out. My students won't be distracted by what they hear in my background. I will be able to hear them better because background noises will be reduced for me too. The camera document will allow me to project and work out examples of how to do a math problem, write and edit a paragraph, or simply project our reading assignment as I read aloud. These two items will allow me to provide my students with a better and more equipped distance learning experience for their future. Help me help them!
