This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year, I have the honor of serving as an Instructional Coach working with teachers and students in grades K-2. For students in these critical early elementary school grades, exposure to quality instruction is critical in creating a life-long love of learning. My goal is to have students enter as little kids and emerge as articulate thinkers. Our diverse learners come from a variety of backgrounds, yet come together to create a community that is unique to our school.
Our neighborhood and school are unique, with over 90% of students in families considered economically disadvantaged, 95% of families receiving public assistance, and many families living in temporary housing.
However, we have heart in abundance.
Our students are already striving for success! While they may be young, they are already looking toward the future. The Bronx is only the beginning. Your support is appreciated.
My Project
While this school year has already been filled with many changes, the biggest change for me is in my role at this school. I am serving as an Instructional Coach, which affords me the invaluable opportunity to work alongside hundreds of students and their amazing teachers. It is incredible to be able to model lessons for classrooms filled with eager learners.
As you can imagine, hearing us share our thoughts and deliver instruction through the mask (which is imperative we wear) - is almost impossible!
With your generous donation, I will be able to have a voice amplifier to wear when I deliver instruction. This will not only save my voice from almost certain strain, but ensure all students can hear me from any location in the classroom. Your donation will additionally provide an amazing microphone and speaker so that students can pass it around when they share.
