This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a teacher of ENL (English as a New Language), I use recordings a lot. Students listen to lessons I've recorded, and they demonstrate their knowledge with the benefit of practice by recording their own voices. We record everything from lab reports to interviews with their families. Whether they are narrating a story about endangered birds in their home countries, or interviewing their family members about the impacts of climate change in native language, the equipment they use is important. One of the biggest challenges we have is the low pickup of our computer and phone microphones. I want students to be heard louder and clearer, which is why I am asking for a class set of inexpensive but high-quality microphones.

During the pandemic, this specific microphone was my go-to: I used it to create hours of lessons and the sound quality was always top-notch.

I want all of my students' work to get the same benefit. These microphones combined with some easy-to-make cardboard sound booths will take our recordings to the next level. Please help my students' interviews and presentations pop!
