The level of stress my students are facing are unimaginable, more so students who already have learning gaps. During the pandemic students have had a complete disruption in their learning. Students come from low income homes/shelter. What we provide in school might not be provided in their living space. Many students to not have quiet places to study, or can even sign-in to live remote learning classrooms. Majority of my students have access to electronic devices, limited internet connectivity.
The materials that my students most requested are headphones. Many times students cannot hear the teacher or other students when they are in online live classes or tutoring sessions.
Many of my students live in homes where there are multiple people under one roof; concentration and learning tools are limited.
Care packages with a note and headphones will be sent to each student. Some students prefer in-ear headphones and some over-ear headphones. There are also many students that will be using their phones/tablets and would like the iPhone connecting headphones. This way, students have what they need to continue their remote learning now, until schools open. Due to interrupted learning and academic challenges, students will most likely be completing work through the summer. The requested tablets are for those students still not having access to technology.
