This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are in kindergarten and first grade.

They have disabilities including, but not limited to autism, specific learning disabilities in both auditory and visual processing delays, developmental delays, ADHD, speech and language impairments among other disabilities.

Our school is located in a rough area of South Los Angeles where the majority of students come from very low-income households. They are a great bunch of inquisitive, fun, and diverse learners who need extra support and resources to aid and enrich their learning.

My Project

My students need a speaker to be used for various reasons through out the school day. The first reason that they can benefit from a speaker is to dance and do exercise. We need a portable speaker that can be easily transported outside. My classroom has its own private back area, one that I use for the children to get the wiggles out, exercise and practice our school dance performances when we have them. We need the speaker to set timers. I have students mainsteaming into general education classes through out the day, we need a loud speaker that can set reminders for students to go to their general education classes.
