Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My Technology class serves the entire population of my Title I school through our Special Area rotation. In addition to the Technology concepts that are taught, I implement activities that are cross curricular in order to support language arts, math and science concepts. Portions of my class content can consist of content requiring audio or visual activities.

Headphones and colored pencils are key components that enhance student learning through my courses.

My current headphones have been second-hand-me-downs from other classrooms, and my students often have to switch sets in order to find a pair that will work for them. The headphones are also necessary for when my students take their course exams, as our testing system allows for questions and answers to be read to them through the course's management system. The headphones I am requesting will provide a class set, and my 450+ students will make use of them when they visit throughout the week.

The Rarlan colored pencils are amazing! I find them both very colorful and very durable. The students are able to color code certain notes that we take in class, and sketches, drawings and tracings are enhanced by students being able to use the color pencils. Students from Kindergarten up to 5th grade are able to make good use of the pencils, and this set that I've requested will last in my classroom for a long time.
