Do you know what it's like to have to wait for your friend to search for the letters they need to type their paper, or the time it takes to locate the right picture for your PowerPoint? Well, my students do! They need another computer to complete their work as a 21st century learner.
Students in my class love to write and learn new things.
They especially love to use the computer to publish their writing assignments. Most students only have an opportunity to use a computer when they come to my classroom. Currently, we only have one computer because the other two have broken down and can not be repaired. My students are disappointed when they do not have an opportunity to finish their work. In order for my students to complete an assignment, I have to send them to other teachers to finish their work. My eager to learn energetic class needs technology to assist in their education, and do the best that they can on their writing projects.
My Project
A netbook for my classroom will enhance my students learning. Utilizing the webcam and microphone they will learn how to upload their voice and videos to their PowerPoint's that they have created. Many times students like to work with their partner in the hallway so that they are able to keep their project private from the rest of the students until it is time to present. A netbook will allow them to sit in the hall and prepare their projects. My students will learn technology skills that I was not able to learn until I was in graduate school. They will be better prepared for the future after they have the opportunity to learn skills that I would not be able to teach them without the netbook computer.
Children are our future, and by donating to my classroom project, I will be more able of help these children prepare for the future.
Technology is not going away, and will only become more advanced. My students need an equal opportunity to achieve their highest potential.
