My classroom is a typical inner city classroom in Maryland. We lack many of the essential supplies necessary for adequate instruction. I am the major purchaser of any and sometimes all school supplies for children of poverty.
Last year, I submitted a proposal for a large listening library from DonorsChoose. I did get the library and We use it all the time but this year, I moved up to third grade and my scholars would do much better if they could take the books and tape/Cd's to their desk instead of trying to squeeze several children into a small listening center.
If my scholars had personal cd and cassette players, they would be able to go to their desks and stop fighting over which three children get to go the the listening area today.
Please make this possible for my scholars! it is so important that they are exposed to fluency reading. Please purchase these listening resources for my scholars! In my classroom, we have a saying:
