My Students

I teach 60 hard working, silly, and amazing 2nd grade students in a small East Texas town. I have been teaching for 18 years and have been a member of ATPE for all 18. I love what I do. My students love to work with hands-on activities, make creative art projects and play games. They do not respond as positively to worksheets or seat work activities as they do to physically manipulating the words, letters, or manipulatives. My students love to work in centers or sing songs to learn new concepts. I strive to make my classroom a fun, safe, and exciting learning environment.

My Project

My students love water bottles, drinks, cookies and snacks, especially when they are snacks that they really love. These snacks will help my students learn each day. The snacks in my classroom are usually used to help keep my students’ brains fueled so we can keep learning each day. It is hard to learn on an empty stomach.

Snacks allow my students to pick something that they can either enjoy at the moment or save for a special moment.

My students need these snacks to help fuel their bodies and their minds. This year is like no other and I don't want them to have to worry about food, because I am more than willing to give them something for themselves.
