This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am serving as a 3rd-grade teacher at a Title I school where 100% of our students receive free lunch. My students come from low-income families and face challenges inside and outside of the classroom. As the challenges arise, I try to provide a safe, positive, fun loving experience every day. We also practice Social Emotional Learning (SEL) to help them think through their emotions and actions. No matter the challenge, my students persevere and come out to the other side learning a valuable lesson.
My Project
We have made it back into school for our second semester! I have an amazing group of kids that try their best at whatever the task may be. This may be true, but sometimes they need a little positive reinforcement along the way.
Sometimes telling them "good job" or "I am proud of you" works, but I have learned that snacks also motivate them as well.
These snacks that I am requesting will be another great asset to have in my class.
Some of my students come from homes where motivation is a key factor in their upbringing, while others are missing it. My students are quick to work hard when they know there is a possibility of a treat. With your help, these snacks will continue to help provide a positive learning environment. Everybody needs a little extra motivation.
