My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, I see that my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many obstacles they face, school should be a safe place where they are free to be creative and focus on learning.

These first graders are smart, enthusiastic and love to create with their hands.

These students deserve the very best that the education world has to offer. In our classroom, we care and encourage one another to be our best.

My Project

Teaching students how to code empowers them to express themselves in a really cool way. Kids will focus at the task at hand and be able to get instant gratification of seeing their hard work pay off when a project is complete.

Coding is basic literacy in the digital age, and it’s important for kids to understand and be able to innovate with the technology around them.

Using the Botley Coding Robot, students will learn to code using active play, promoting critical thinking and problem solving skills. We will be able to use this in small group settings as well as for individual use. This tool will kickstart a love of coding in young learners!
