Help me give my students headphones with a microphone so they are engaged and can participate in their learning instead of everything going on in their houses behind them.
This is my 3rd year teaching third graders and I absolutely love this age group! I have taught second and fourth grade and am able to use what I know from those grades to teach this one in between. Third graders are at such a fun and funny age they know how to joke with you, have conversations and understand why learning is important.
My goal is for my students to grow into lifelong learners having fun at the same time!
Not only do I teach my kids the state standards but I also teach them skills they need to know to become good people.
My students come from all different backgrounds and socioeconomic statuses. Some live in the neighborhood and walk to school but others are driven from all over the county. Their educational backgrounds are all different and I am prepared for this.
My Project
Well, we are back to full virtual learning again and our goal is to make it as engaging and educational as we can! My class of 30 students are now learning full time from their homes with their school computers doing the best they can. I want to emphasize, these kiddos are doing the best they can and they are amazing!
My goal is to give my students the best at home learning experience I can!
This is the second time we are doing full virtual learning this year I have begun to figure out what worked well and what didn't work from the first time around. The main item my students need in order to be successful is headphones. Many of my students live in small apartments or share a house with other families and everyone is working in one room. It is not fair for my students to be distracted because their mom is on a work call right next to them or their little brother is talking to their teacher on the other side of the table.
I don't want to ignore any students just because I know the second they unmute themselves the whole class will hear a screaming baby or I don't want anyone to be embarrassed because their grandparent is watching daytime TV behind them.
As a teacher I feel I need cordless headphones so I can teach just like I would in the classroom. I want to move around in front of the screen, I want to stand up and point to things, I want to create a large anchor chart or poster with the students. And I want to do all these things successfully.
Having headphones with a microphone will solve all these problems!
