Can I Make One? Part 1

My students need 24 various materials to use their creativity and imagination to make works of art, such as glue sticks, pom-poms, crayons, markers, moon sand and collage supplies.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember the 1st piece of art you made at school and took home to your family? My mom made such a big deal out of all my little scribbles, hung them on the refrigerator, and still has many of them to this day. My students need to feel the pride associated with making their own piece of art

I teach a class of 18 ELL, English Language Learners, students who are 4 and 5 years old.

All of whom come from lower income families. We are located at a school where the majority of the students receive free or reduced lunch. This is their first exposure to formal education, and with many of them being the first born we are helping the families learn what to expect from school and showing them ways to support their children becoming life-long learners.

My Project

These resources will allow my students a chance to use their imagination and be creative. They listen to various stories read to them daily and with these supplies they will be able to create some of the characters from the stories, and even create their own characters and maybe, with help, create their own books to share with their families and friends. Students will use the supplies to glue things, play and create with dough, and just draw which will also help support developing their fine motor and gross motor skills.

With your support the students in my class will increase their creative skills, and develop their ability to take things they can imagine, and turn them into real, concrete, touchable objects.

They will be able to share their creations with their families, and share what they have learned here a school. Your donations will support art, and what child doest need to just color some days! Thank you in advance for your support.
