This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In our class, we strive to be well-rounded individuals who can produce collaborative work. The students are hard-working, often times taking their lunch time and after-school time to come into the class and continue to drill on their works-in-progress.

What amazes me about these students is how they can jump into their work on their own.

They find ways to communicate with each other in respectful ways, to provide constructive feedback, and diligently work together.

Despite the many obstacles my students face, they look forward to coming in and getting their work done.

My Project

My students have little to no interest in joining the volleyball or soccer team here at school. It's a two part problem: little to no equipment, and equipment that is worn-out or outdated.

Giving the students on the volleyball and soccer teams some new equipment will breathe new life into the sports teams we have on campus.

It will not only pump up the students who have been on these teams before, but it will encourage other students to join and hopefully stick around for the team to progress and be competitive!

For far too long, our volleyball courts have been using worn nets and they have needed some restoration. The new nets will be able to be used to actually play some games and get our kids ready to try out for the high school team when the time comes. It will also be great to see the soccer players kick around some new balls because the ones they've had to use were extremely beaten. All this equipment will be welcome!

I am hoping that we can incorporate more students at "Team and Club Rush Week" and be able to have this equipment ready to go when we have our first practices!
