Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are a wonderful group of kids who come from a variety of backgrounds. Included in the group of students are low-income students, English learners, immigrants, students with special needs, and many others. They are a superb group of kids who care for the well being of others.
The kids in my class are very passionate and full of life.
Everyday with them is a new adventure full of exciting stories and experiences that they share with me. Some of my students come from homes where school is their only safe, secure, and consistent environment.
My Project
I am looking to get a couple of attention getters to use when working to get my students' attention. I have seen both the doorbell and chime used effectively to gain the attention of students. All of these items would allow for me to get the attention of my class without having to raise my voice or creating more loud noises to get their attention, such as clapping or calls and responses.
Getting the attention of kindergarteners can be difficult, but is so important.
When I can effectively get the attention of my class using a calming solution it will allow them to focus quickly. With quick focus wasted time is decreased and learning is increased.
