Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are 8th grade special education students. They enjoy learning and investigating topics in mathematics. They need prerequisite skills and support material to reach eighth grade standards. Starting in September, our school is implementing Algebra for All to give all students the opportunity to take the Algebra 1 regents.
I will be starting from scratch teaching Algebra 1 and a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will allow me to purchase fun, engaging, and interactive Algebra 1 materials.
My students and I are going to need support materials to access the standards required to be successful. I am optimistic and excited to begin this new endeavor. My summer will be spent finding and creating new activities and materials for my students.
Eighth grade math is difficult on it's own and now my special education students will be preparing for a regents in June. This is a great opportunity for my students to start high school with one regents already completed. I need them to remain motivated and engaged through the toughest of topics. I greatly appreciate your help and want to thank you in advance.
