My students need hands-on/minds-on life, physical, and earth science materials, such as kits and a microscope, to support their inquisitive minds at our classroom's science table.

My Students
Do you remember when you had questions about the way the world worked? My 26 kindergarten students are amazing, inquisitive investigators. There is no way to express how excited they get when they know we are getting ready to "investigate" science.
My Project
I have introduced science to my students with very basic hands-on and visual experiments. I introduced them to the Scientific Method and the absolutely love to share their hypotheses before we begin our experiments. I teach kindergarten in a Title I school that is located in a very low socioeconomic, urban neighborhood. All students receive free breakfast and lunch at school. Many of my students come from homes that struggle to provide daily necessities and therefore, they do not have opportunities outside of the classroom to explore the world around them and how it functions. My students are eager to learn and explore the world around them and I am committed to making science an everyday part of their school life.
