Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our club takes part in weekly campus clean-up opportunities. Sometimes there are so many students we run out of supplies. The garbage bags will be used to collect trash, and gloves and grabbers will also make our campus trash-free.

Beautifying our campus is a community service opportunity we take advantage of twice weekly.

Freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors can give back to the community by picking up trash and recycling on campus after school. Students earn community service hours they use for scholarship opportunities or grants. Instilling care and empathy for the world around us is a skill that needs to be addressed on a global level. We are starting small in hopes this initiative spreads to other schools as well.
