My Project
I would like to provide my students with a room transformation week called Camp S'more Learning. During this week, students will enhance their reading, writing, and social studies skills through hands-on problem solving and critical thinking activities in stations. Our classroom will be transformed to look like a campground which makes these backdrops necessary to bring about the atmosphere of being outdoors.
Most of my students have never been camping and can not afford to go camping as over 90% of them receive free lunch.
This is a one in a lifetime learning experience for my students in which they may cover texts that deal with women's rights, humanitarian concerns, English Learning, Civics, LGBTQ issues, women's history, African-American history, Native-American history, science, technology, STEAM, philosophy, socio-emotional issues, among many more! They will also work with 1st graders to be peer mentors during these days. We thank you for considering our project. Thank you!
