My students are my sun and moon. In fact, they just lost their homes and their classrooms, in the Camp Fire. We are in Paradise, California, and it is all gone. I love these students and families so much that the fire was on Thursday and we began school in my home in the nearby town of Chico, where many were evacuated, the following Monday.
I have a diverse group of kiddos and wildly curious.
Now they are traumatized. We need your help starting over.
My Project
I, like many, lost their classrooms in the Paradise, CA Camp Fire. I had just moved from kindergarten to third grade this past summer. I had painted the room, brought in "new to us furniture," and held a book drive. The room looked like a beach resort. Who doesn't love reading a book on the beach in a beach chair? We lost everything. We lost our class set of Chromebooks, our brand new classroom library with 854 books; many never even got a chance to be read. I have been gifted many books, now I need shelves to put them on. Our third grade class had a Smartboard, my first I've ever had. I didn't see that as an option so I am asking for a projector, document camera, and printer. These basics will get us up and going. Thank you so much for your consideration.
