Ours is a Title I school located in Kansas. The majority of our students receive free or reduced rate lunch and many are English Language Learners. Though these kids might not have everything that others do; they come to school with great attitudes and minds like sponges that are ready to soak up any learning opportunity that is thrown their way.
Some of the students are homeless.
There are a lot of special needs students at the school. The neighborhood in which the school located was hit by a tornado a few years ago. Some of the students live with grandparents or in single parent homes. A lot of the parents are unemployed due to the recession and the economy.
A camera will help the students learn more about science and math. The children will be able to take pictures of science projects and see the progress of different projects. Technology is essential for the kids to obtain a 21st century education. Cameras allow the students to count different items to increase their math skills.
Math and Science knowledge will be increased with the use of a camera.
Math and science careers are in high demand. With this camera the children will be better prepared for the real world. Who knows one of the students might work for Verizon one day.
