This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have the best students in the world. My students are so curious and creative in art class, and I am always looking for new ways to push their talents further and engage them in the process of furthering their drawing skills. I learned about the Lucy Drawing tool about a year ago and was able to try it out at a conference this past April. The Lucy works like a camera lucida which will be a fun STEM learning opportunity. It transfers any image onto paper or canvas by reflecting images through a combination of mirrors, enabling students to draw from exactly what they see in front of them. This technology, rooted in centuries of artistic practice, has been used by Master painters like DaVinici and Caravaggio!

I believe the Lucy Drawing Tool will be an incredible tool to assist students in their drawing abilities while also providing students with greater confidence in their drawing abilities.
