Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach high school photography, publications/yearbook, and student council at a Title I school. My students are amazing! They are kind, caring, and inquisitive. My students come from very diverse backgrounds, and many have not had it easy.
All of my students are choosing to be part of the photography, yearbook, and student council classes.
I know that my students deserve to have an amazing photography, yearbook, and student council program. With your help, my students can have the photography, yearbook, and student council classes they deserve. Students gain so much from experiencing the arts and student leadership classes. Please help me give my students what they need to be successful.
My Project
We are asking for 25 more bags for our film cameras, 2 bags for our digital cameras, batteries and chargers for our digital cameras, and locks to keep our digital cameras safe. We are one of the last film photography high school programs around, and we use antique cameras. My level 2 students are allowed to take the cameras home so they are able to take additional photos, but we do not currently have enough camera bags for students to use.
Camera bags will give my students the freedom to take the cameras home, and allow them to really express their creativity because currently they are limited to taking their photos of the school grounds.
Thank you for considering this project, supporting the arts, and helping film photography stay alive.
