it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project will be supporting students who need highly specialized instructional support for students with significant challenges, such as: Autism Spectrum Disorders. Significant cognitive delays. Emotional disabilities. This Small project will be helping supply yoga balls so my students can participate in a new Yoga curriculum. This Yoga curriculum will be integrating body postures and breathing balances the autonomic nervous system bringing forth a sense of well-being with significant mental and physical health benefits. Few evidence-based studies have shown yoga to have a positive impact on problem behaviors in children. Yoga can develop social skills such as imitation and communication skills, eye contact, tolerance, and emotional regulation in children with ASD. Different body movements and breathing in yoga regulated the high levels of stress response in children with ASD influencing their mind and body into a state of calmness and relaxation. My school is currently struggling to provide my students with the equipment needed to take on this new skill and with your help it can be completed! Please consider donating to this project.
