Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The items I am requesting will be placed in my calming corner where my students can go to the calming corner and use the tools to be able to help calm down when they are having a moment.

The goal for the project is for my students to be able to use a variety of tools in the calming corner to be able to help to calm down should they get upset/angry and need a tool to help them.

My students are in a self-contained support classroom and at times they have a tendency to get upset/angry if something does not go their way or if there is a change in routine and they need to go to the calming corner to be able to get themselves together. Also, my students experience trauma at home that it affects them so much that they bring what happened at home to school and need to go to the calming corner. In the calming corner, my students at times need to be able to do something with their hands to take their minds off what just happened either at school or from home that triggered them to become upset.
