Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The students in my room come to learn with numerous weights on their shoulders from COVID-19, family issues, friendship struggles, and the high emotions that accompany struggles with learning.

Some of my students come to school with lots of things on their minds, or they may have made some bad decisions during the day and they just need a place to relax and regroup.

This "Calming Minds" project is a great idea for them. It will be nice for them to be able to fidget with the fidget toys if they have been hyper. They can use sensory items like weighted toys and blankets to refocus their thoughts and get them on the right track. They will greatly benefit from this small, comforting place.
