Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our first grade is full of multiple learning preferences. We are asking for sensory materials to help our students regulate their bodies and emotions with these materials including a swing and stand, lighting materials, and fidget toys. Our students are coming to school with different needs and in order to meet these needs we are trying to think outside the box.

Sensory regulation will help us reach a population within our room that can be tricky to figure out.

Sensory swings provide proprioceptive and vestibular input, helping individuals regulate sensory processing and arousal levels. Anxiety and stress can be curbed by the rhythmic swinging motion of sensory swinging and can induce relaxation, reduce anxiety, and promote a sense of calm.
