This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The calming corner provides a safe space where students can practice self-regulation, mindfulness, and emotional awareness—all essential SEL skills. The area will be equipped with sensory tools, flexible seating and warm colors.
This space will give students tools to pause, reflect, and manage their emotions in a healthy and safe environment.
By using the calming corner, students:
-Build self-awareness by recognizing when they need a break.
-Practice self-management using calming strategies like deep breathing, sensory tools, or quiet reflection.
-Foster awareness emotions and empathy.
This simple yet powerful space empowers students to take ownership of their emotional well-being.
