Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have requested a calming corner bundle, along with books to help provide a specific area that is designated to create a safe space in my class when students need a break.
Life can be challenging for students and they need a space where they can have resources to help them with the big feelings that they have inside of them.
My students are in fourth grade and they have challenges that they didn't have when they were younger, whether they are from school or home, I know that they cannot ignore them, and neither can I. The calming corner will give students a space and time to calm down whether they are angry, sad, frustrated or disappointed. When they feel better they can return to their seat, and hopefully have a better day.
