This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This calming corner will help my students develop their social-emotional skills. This designated area will be a soothing, safe place for my students and will help them regulate their emotions while they are trying to process what they are feeling. I want to able to provide my students a calming down corner area where it will be a comfortable space for my students to sit, relax, calm their bodies down, take a breather and collect themselves while they process their many emotions. Some of these materials, such as the dolls and calming kits, will help me be able to give my children the emotional support they need.
