Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students come to school already facing trials and tribulations no child should face at a young age. My calming corner will provide a sense of peace while supporting the students' love of reading in a relaxed atmosphere surrounded by books they can identify with.
As a title one school, access to books students can see themselves in are limited.
My goal is to not only provide a safe and comfortable place to sit, but for students to see representation matters as they work on developing their own identity through literature. Thank you for your consideration!
