This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As our class grows, we are implementing more SEL lessons into our first-grade class to help our new scholars adjust. Therefore, we have been relying heavily on our calming corner since many of our scholars need a calming space with pillows, and a table lamp, to gather their emotions and work through what they are feeling. Our calming corner needs a couple of more items to be more inviting and project a warm, calming space!
As a second-year teacher, I am looking to provide my scholars with an inviting calming corner where they can feel safe to work through their emotions.
I have added several items that will help boost our space. The hexagon cushions will be a great addition since some of our scholars like to sit or lie down while reading.
