Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I want to create a space where my students can read a book quietly in the library, and another space where they can take small breaks. In the library students will be able to read books that will help them with their emotions. In the calming corner students will be provided with tools and resources to build their social-emotional skills by engaging them in activities, readings, and exercises.

Creating this space in my classroom will allow my students to have a safe place to read quietly and engage in activities that will reduce stress and enhance relaxation.

The classroom library will have cushions, stools, and pillows for students to use when sitting on the carpet. The posters in the calming corner and classroom library will provide my students the kind words they need to hear while trying to manage their emotions. This areas will provide a safe space for my students to go when they need some time to calm down.
