This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our classroom community is predominantly made up of students in grades 3-8 who are receiving small group instruction in reading. The space is shared among the various grades as well as four educators. At any given moment during the day there are multiple groups happening simultaneously. Our students come to their small groups every day ready and eager to learn, even with the space being shared by many other students and teachers. The materials we are requesting (bean bags, chair bands, lights & clipboards) will support our students in feeling even more calm, safe and accomplished in a busy space that is there to support their development in preparation for middle and high school.
