This is my first year as a teacher and it is the first year for our school to be up and running. From knowing what Kindergarteners are like from previous experiences are that these young students love to learn. These students love to learn about everything from animals to what sounds the letter "A" can make. I am a Kindergarten teacher at a STEM school, so watching the students learn about all things Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics will be very exciting.
I have seen children love to learn and be in an environment that is inclusive to his/her needs and watch each student form a community based on his/her similarities and differences.
I am excited to start to work with children from different cultural backgrounds and help instill the love of learning.
I am a first year teacher and have big plans and dreams for my classroom and for my students to get the best education he/she can possibly get while being in my room for the year. Since I am a first year teacher I had no idea that there are so many moving parts to having a classroom. I have not yet met my students but I can't wait to meet each and every one.
I want to create a space that is comfortable that will enhance the kindergarteners' ability to perform daily tasks and can teach my students' responsibility.
For this project I am asking for a variety of things. The rug I have chosen is green because my theme is "On the Farm." We would use this rug in our reading space so the kindergarteners will be able to get comfortable while diving into the book he/she choose to read. I also chose a bookshelf display on wheels. By choosing this it will allow my students to see which books are available to read as well as help create a space for peaceful reading. I have chosen two packages of musical instruments. I believe that music has a role in classrooms, and since I am a kindergarten teacher having music to teach about certain topics can really enhance his/her learning experiences. I selected foldable storage bins to be placed into my dramatic play area, these bins will allow the students to know how to properly put items away in the shelves and also allow for theme changes to run smoothly.
