Help me give my students relaxing light and a storage unit so they can have the ability to thrive in a diverse classroom that meets their learning differences and needs
I have eighty-three energetic, enthusiastic, diverse fourth graders. They have a variety of different learning abilities, needs, and economical backgrounds. In our district, fifty-two percent of our students come from some situation of poverty. No matter what our students' background and diversity is, students should feel comfortable, relaxed, and excited to be in school.
Our class is a place where students call their home and a place that meets each of their learning needs while instilling kindness and compassion for others.
Among my regular education students, I have students that qualify for ESL,EL, Life Skills and learning support services. I also mainstream behavior support students into my science and social studies classroom. The students who are in my classroom are engaged in a rigorous curriculum. My students are excited to learn, be challenged, to succeed, and to persevere.
Relaxing lighting options, that are not bright or over stimulating, helps students focus and concentrate. They also allow students to be calm. When students are comfortable in their learning environment, they are more willing to be motivated, focus on not only the curricular lessons, but life lessons that students learn in school.
The organizaiton unit, will help our students stay organized. It will house community supplies that will be labeled, along with "go to work", while you were out material, and important forms.
