This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have a great group of 4th and 5th grade students. They are learning to regulate their emotions. At times my students need a place to de escalate their behavior.
I feel that creating a Calming Area in my classroom will benefit our entire class.
It will allow ALL students to ask for a break before they get frustrated and begin to distract their peers. Allowing students to take a break will decrease the frequency and duration of the distracting behavior and it will help ALL students learn and succeed.
