This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Teaching students about self-regulation is important to allow students to focus on the academics. In our classroom we have discussions about identifying emotions in others and ourselves.
Students need an area where they can reflect, analyze, and self-regulate their emotions.
Creating an area where students can step aside to identify their feelings can help them understand that all of our feelings are valid, but what we do with those feelings is what matters. My goal is for my students to think before they act (or react). Creating this area will decrease problems amongst peers, increase our academic time, and create more empathy with each other.
